Author Guidelines

PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPT

1. It is the policy of the editorial board not to consider or publish manuscript submitted concurrently to other journals. Articles already published by other journals or used materials or works with issue relating to plagiarism are therefore not acceptable.


Note: This journal or its editorial board takes no responsibility for the consequence(s) of violating item 1 above.

2. Articles are to be sent with the author’s name, title/rank, post and institutional affiliation, preferably on a separate page. The document should be in Microsoft Word format and uploaded to this system after the main author has signed up for an account. Look for the "new submissions" button in the author's home page.

3. Articles should not exceed 4000 to 5000 words typed on A4 paper size with double line spacing. The article should also contain an abstract of not more than 200 italicized words.

4. The reference style adopted for this journal is the American Psychological Association (APA) and all references should be arranged alphabetically at the end of the article.

5. The current editorial board, in line with global best practices has demonstrated commitment to be electronic in the discharge of its tasks. What this means is that articles in our journal are now published both online and in hard copies.


7. ACCEPTANCE/ASSESSMENT REPORT

Notice of acceptance/assessment report is sent to authors of the article(s). Payment of NGN8,000 (Eight Thousand Naira) online publication fee is expected, payable by the author of an accepted paper through Credit Card: (Mastercard, Visa or Verve) and other electronic means using this platform. This payment is to be made after the author has logged into his/her account on this platform. The other option to pay in the bank is also acceptable

The author may also request for hard copies of the journal by paying the required amount to the account below;

HOW TO SUBMIT AN ARTICLE TO JEDA

To submit an article to JEDA, kindly follow the steps below;

1. Go to www.journalsplace.org and select the JEDA journal to go to the site OR go directly to the JEDA website www.journalsplace.org/index.php/JEDA

2. Click the LOGIN at the top navigation menu.

3. Click “Not a user? Register with this site”. Clicking this will open up a form to register with the journal.

4. While filling the form, it is important that you select “Reader” and “Author” under the “Register As” item. NOTE THAT IF “AUTHOR” IS NOT SELECTED, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO SUBMIT A PAPER. After filling out the form, ensure that when “Register” is clicked, the form actually submits. You will then be taken to your home page as an author or redirected to login with your username and password.

5. If you are already registered as an “author”, then login into the journal using your username and password.

6. At your landing page, click on “[New Submissions]” and follow the several levels of forms that will appear at each time.

a. In the first form, select all the check boxes but you don’t need to make a comment under “Comments for the Editor”. But if you have any comments, you can enter it here. Then click “Save and continue”.

b. In the second form which appears, under “Submission File”, click “Choose File”. It will open your computer folders. Navigate to the Microsoft Word version of your article which you wish to submit to this journal. After selecting the file, click “upload”. When this is successful, it will then show a page with the “File Name”, “Original file name” etc indicating that the file upload was successful. At this point click “Save and continue”.

c. In the third form which appears, Enter the particulars of the Authors of the article you wish to submit. Your particulars will be there. However, if there are other authors along with yourself, click “Add Author” to continue to add each additional author. File out the article title in “Title”, article abstract in “Abstract” and references in the article in “References”. Kindly note that while entering the references, you have to give a full line space between each reference. Then click “Save and Continue”. NB: You need to be fast at this part else the system will log you off and you have to start again.

d. At the last form which appears, use it only if you have a supplementary file to add to your submission. Else, simply click “Save and continue”.


7. Congratulations. You have been able to submit a file as an author.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word format, and file size does not exceed 500kb.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Submission and Publication: 20000.00 (NGN)
If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Submission and Publication Fee to cover submission processes and publication costs.

If you do not have funds to pay such fees, you may have an opportunity for the fee to be waived. If the reasons are genuine and the opportunity is available, you may get it.
